Belt Rank Progression

Students training in our Traditional Taekwondo Martial Arts Program
will be interested in the requirements to progress toward successively
higher levels of belt - with the ultimate goal being the First Degree Black
Belt.  An elite few students continue their training beyond First
Degree Black Belt - they earn rank up to Ninth Degree in
Korean Taekwondo.
 

 

Beginner Home Study Guide

Current Semester Focus (Spring, 2008) - All Parents and Students
should review the Yellow Level Materials for this semester
New Students will want to train and practice at home. 

We offer a number of training materials such as Kicking/Striking targets,
focus pads and kid-friendly blocking sticks on at the Retail Pro Shop on our website. 
Order online and have the products shipped right to your doorstep.

The information in this section includes all of the fundamental kicks, strikes and blocks. 
In addition, the first three forms, one-steps and spar segments are included.  The new student
will also want to memorize their student oath included in the package.   These sections represent
all materials required for promotion through the Nine Super Kids Karate belts and the
first Three Traditional Taekwondo Ranks:  White - Orange - Yellow Belt.


 
Test Requirements
Ultimate Martial Arts Fitness Centers

Students are required to demonstrate specific skills in order to
advance to successively higher martial arts rank.  The requirements
are listed in this area.

 

 

 

Test Requirements - Super Kids Karate
Students enrolled in our On-site DayCare, Public After-school and Private
School Programs have a Belt Awards Ceremony for belt rank advancement in
the Super Kids Karate Belt Rank Program every two months.  Students are
required to demonstrate specific skills in order to advance to successively
higher martial arts rank. 

 

 
 
Required Kicks

Students are required to demonstrate specific kicking skills in order to advance
to successively higher martial arts rank.  The kicking technique requirements
are listed in this area.   Please refer to the UMAFC Student Manual for
description of the numbered kicking system.

 

 

 


Board Breaking Requirements  
The board breaking testing requirements for advanced students (Only)

Monthly Life and Safety Skill

In the "Super Kids Karate" Children's martial arts programs, we teach
one "Life Skill" and one "Safety Skill" every month.   There are twenty four
lessons in the program, and merit badges are presented to the
students after completion of each lesson module.
